LSBC had humble beginnings. A dozen anglers would get together and throw $10 into the hat and go fishing for 10 hours. It didn't matter what type of boat you had, as long as it floated, and several members had homemade boats. Not all anglers had trolling motors and/or fish finders but the idea was to spend an enjoyable day in friendly competition with like-minded people.

LSBC still provides friendly competition within its tournaments and welcomes all anglers who would like to give tournament fishing a try. Tournaments typically run from the first week of June to the end of September numbering about 10 tournaments a season.

Today LSBC is one of the most active clubs in the province. Many of the original members still remain and the club now has about 50 members.

The club prides itself in running the annual Arthur Corporon fund raising tournament each year that has raised money for a local women's shelter, family resource center, a local charity kitchen, and Christmas Daddies. Each year a new beneficiary is chosen.

Beside tournament bass fishing LSBC is dedicated to the conservation of the species (100% catch and release) and habitat protection. LSBC was a partner in the building of a new ramp on Wentworth Lake. Bass tournament fishing brings a financial boon to the community and LSBC has and will continue to actively work within the community to promote sports fishing in the area.
